Isn’t this just business intelligence?
The problem is what the industry did with the label.
Business Intelligence built the discipline we work in, and it has delivered real value for real organizations. Over time, though, BI came to mean something narrower: reports and dashboards, delivered as a project with a finish line. Once the project ends, the outputs age, and people slowly stop looking at them.
Enterprise Intelligence is the same discipline built as infrastructure. It keeps working after a project would have ended, and it reaches the whole business rather than the few people who knew what to ask.
The label matters less than the test
You’ll hear other labels for this — data fabric, decision intelligence, analytics platform. The label matters less than the test: does the data stay governed after the project ends, can anyone in the business get a trusted answer, and can every number be traced to its source? Ask those questions of any data vendor — including us.
The full test lives on our Enterprise Intelligence page: five layers, and what each one has to do before AI can be trusted.
